You shall not pass! Gandalf the Grey combats an ancient beast which dwells deep within the Mines of Moria in this epic portrait. The Balrog, swathed in shadow and flame, emerges from unfathomable darkness with its gaping maw ready to devour. As the only member of the Fellowship powerful enough to stop the creature, Gandalf wields both his Wizard staff and the gleaming white sword Glamdring against it. The flames roaring and bright light radiating around the pair remind us that there can only be one victor in this battle on the Bridge of Khazad-dûm.
