For centuries he slumbered. A vast, scaly weight pressing down upon the stolen wealth of Erebor™, breathing the stale air of a kingdom's tomb. In the darkness, the ragon and his hoard became one. No longer just a guardian of the gold, Smaug became the very embodiment of greed, his hide mirroring the glittering coins he coveted above all else.
Smaug the Golden creates a striking ""what if"" narrative, imagining the Fire Drake fused with the very treasure he guards. To achieve this lustrous, treasure-hoarding aesthetic, our artists have employed a specialised metallic foiling technique.
This complex application coats the scales and skin in a shimmering layer of gold, simulating the effect of aeons spent crushing dwarven fortunes beneath his might. Yet, amidst this metallic armour, the eyes and maw remain disturbingly organic; a visceral reminder that a living, breathing monster still lurks beneath the gilt.
Limited to an Edition Size of just 900, this piece retains all the intricate texture of the original bust while offering a completely new aesthetic. Designed for versatility, the bust can be displayed standing on a flat surface or mounted on a wall.
